Money Makes The World Go ‘Round

Money Makes the World Go Round is based on the music of Kander and Ebb, and features songs from musicals including Cabaret and Chicago.

It is being performed onboard P&O cruise ship Arcadia in a production bringing “a slice of the West End to the sea”.

The story focuses on Lily, a young girl from out of town who arrives in the big city in search of a new beginning. She soon finds herself embroiled in the charismatic world of the ‘Cabaret’ and its charming yet dubious host, the M.C.

Here she meets Harry, a fledgeling songwriter with whom love blossoms. However, Harry and his talents are the closely guarded property of the Cabaret’s star Lola and it is not long before Lily feels the chill of Lola’s disapproval and murderous jealousy, as she falls not into the arms of Harry but into the long arm of the law. Will love triumph over adversity? Will the Emcee find a way to turn a profit? After all… money makes the world go ’round.

The show premiered in November 2016.
